What is a Nifty option chain?

An option chain is a complete listing of all available option contracts for Nifty. It shows strike prices, expiry dates, premiums, OI, volume, and IV for both calls and puts.

How do I read the Nifty option chain?

In the Nifty option chain, calls are on the left and puts on the right. The ATM strike is highlighted. High OI strikes signal key support and resistance. IV tells you how expensive an option is relative to historical norms.

What is the difference between OI and Volume in the option chain?

Volume is the number of contracts traded in the current session. Open Interest (OI) is the total number of open contracts outstanding. Volume resets daily; OI is cumulative and changes only when positions are opened or closed.
