NIFTY — Closing Auction Session (CAS) Chart
Checking…Live 1-minute NIFTY chart for the full trading day (9:15 AM onward). Based on real observed data: the index holds flat at its reference price once continuous trading halts (~3:15 PM), then jumps to the settled value once NSE's auction concludes (~3:27–3:29 PM) — it does not gradually trend during the auction itself, since NIFTY's constituent stocks stop updating until their own CAS match completes.

How the CAS Auction Works
Continuous trading stops for CAS-eligible stocks. NSE computes a reference price from the VWAP of the last 15 minutes of trading.
Both market and limit orders are accepted into the auction order book.
Only limit orders are accepted. The window closes at a random time between 3:28–3:30 PM to prevent last-second order flooding.
NSE matches all orders at the single price yielding maximum executable volume — that becomes the official closing price.
